Excellent product. Exactly what i was expecting and wanted.

by:

Bench checked on arrival, voltage was 13.7v. Case and appearance seems reasonable craftsmanship and quality for the price.

by:

Order process was good. I did leave a couple messages for Kelly, which she never replied back to me. That is why no 5 stars.

by:

Excellent product. Easy to install.

by:

Greate unit, easy to install

by:

Working as advertised, great product

by:

Perfect drop in replacement to accommodate lithium batteries.

by:

I don't know why we are asked to review a product before we have had time to evaluate it, but that is always the case. Here it goes. Product arrived intact and timely, as usual for etrailer. Install went easily, it seems to be doing what I need, charging my lithium battery and providing 12 power to the coach. If there are problems down the line I will report back.

by:

This unit works as advertised. According to my rv tech, it is the best brand made. I'm glad I chose it.

A year later, some 80 nights in this rv and the converter has worked 100.

by:

So far it’s great! Very fast shipping. Will definitely buy from etrailer in the future. Customer service is great.

by:

The best price around for a needed item, and your customer service is excellent!

by:

Direct replacement for the non-lithium converter that I had. Perfect, easy set up.

by:

Switched to lithium in our camper van. This was a direct replacement for the PD9245C. All the connections and mounting points were identical. Easy install, seems to work well.

by:

Converter arrived in just a few days, communication was helpful and positive.

by:

Have not used yet. Usually get etrailer orders next day, not this time. Went from St Louis to Chicago via snail mail. I am sure this is a great product as I am replacing a non lithium model with same thing

by:

I have a 10 year old Winnebago View in which I recently upgraded the house batteries from 130aH of FLA to 314Ah of lithium. This converter/charger was a drop-in replacement for the older PD 9200 series that originally came with the RV, allowing me to charge the lithium batteries efficiently. Although I have read that I could have used the 9200 converter and the charge wizard, manually forcing it to temporarily charge at a higher voltage, I didn't want to have to constantly worry about changing it every time I went off-grid.

by:

It was a bit of a task but I made it ha ppen

by:

The unit worked fine with my lithium battery upgrade. Some health issues have forced us to sell our camper.

by:

Works well for lithium battery. When idle maintains 13.6vdc. After being off grid with battery discharged to 50%, charges at boost mode of 14.4vdc.

by:

The converter is the identical footprint is the original installed in my RV in 2013. It has an added feature of switching from Lead Acid, AGM, and Lithium. So I will be able to switch to lithium next year without changing the converter!

Several years ago I purchased a Progressive Dynamics Converter Charger that I use for charging a lithium battery that I use for the trolling motor in my boat (Note: I did NOT install the charger in the boat.). That has worked very well, so when I upgraded to a new boat that needed two trolling motor batteries, I purchased this unit so I can charge both batteries at the same time.

My previous unit is a model that is set to charge lithium batteries only, while this one can be set to charge lead-acid, agm, or lithium batteries. There is a procedure you need to follow to set the unit to the required battery type and that procedure involves poking a pin (provided) through a hole to push a button that cycles the unit through the various battery types. You have to look through another hole to view the LED that indicates which type battery is selected (LED changes colors). While this is not the easiest thing to do, it's not horrible and once you set it correctly, you don't have to touch it again.

So far I've only charged my batteries with this a couple times and it has worked fine. I'm counting on it working for years to come based on how well my first unit has worked for me. The indicator dongle is a nice touch that my previous unit does not have, but I would have been ok with or without it.

by:

Purchased this converter to upgrade to a lithium battery. It took a little bit of adjusting to find a place to mount it and wire it in, as it is larger than the previous converter and it comes with a standard 110 plug. I ended up removing the vacuum that we never really used and wiring in a 110 outlet to power the unit. It has worked great. It fully charges the new battery on shore power and the remote allows you to see the current charging status and adjust the type of charge for your battery. Would recommend to anyone that has the space and the time to do just a little bit of work to install.

Progressive Dynamics builds some awesome equipment, plus it’s all made here in Michigan. Unfortunately I was unable use the converter I ordered as it did not arrive onto before we left on our trip. With that, this review is more for etrailer.
Seeing this order was possibly not going to make it on time, the staff at etrailer did everything they could including sending it out expedited with UPS. Unfortunately UPS stumbled and the package was held up for some unknown reason, so it didn’t arrive before we left.
Thanks to the staff at etrailer for putting up with me and trying their best!

A replacement for my 9200 (which works just fine) that knows how to handle lithium batteries -- technically YES the older one WILL properly charge them IF you trip it into "boost" mode from the pendant (check the voltages; "boost" is the same as the "charge" stage for lithium), but of course if you forget it typically won't go into that mode on its own -- and thus will not fully charge a LiFePO4.

Why only four stars? It has a bit of no-fan audible noise. Not much, and not enough to be a problem from my point of view, but there is a bit of coil noise -- and the 9200 series was absolutely silent other than the fan.

Unlike many other LiFePO4-compatible converts, however, it is two-stage. Most simply run constant-voltage at 14.4 which is "ok", but with them you're always bouncing off the BMS cut-off. Progressive Dynamics simply does it better and thus while they cost a bit more there is a reason.

A year down the road, still as-above. I like it no problems.

Upgrade from original 9100 which can't charge a Lithium battery. Upgrade would have been straight forward but needed to upgrade wiring to 6g and move the location closer to the battery box so it took a little while. It's basically unplug old and plug in new. Installed into 2023 Scamp 13' built when they were changing over. I just missed out when mine was built. Only wiring is charger to battery other original wiring does need any upgrade.

  • 45 Amp Converter with Charge Wizard Needed for RV and Lithium Batteries
Hey Patrick, thanks for reaching out! It sounds like you're needing the Progressive Dynamics 4000 Series Mini RV Converter w/ Charge Wizard and AC/DC Distribution Panel # PD4045KA. If you're wanting just the converter part then the Progressive Dynamics 9300 Series RV Converter Charger # PD69RR would be the best option as it comes with the pendant for it. It's worth noting this doesn't have the Charge Wizard feature so if you need the Charge Wizard you'll have to go with the whole kit...

  • What is Difference Between 45 amp and 60 amp Progressive Dynamics Converter Chargers
Hey Jeff, the difference is that the Progressive Dynamics Converter Charter part # PD79RR would charge your lithium batteries at 60 amps compared to 45 amps like the # PD69RR so would charge it quicker. So if the battery was totally dead it would take a little over two hours to charge the batter with the 45 amp charger and with the 60 amp it would take a little over 1.5 hours. 1.6 hours to be exact.

  • Will Progressive Dynamics 9200 Converter Work with a Lithium Battery?
Hey Jimmy, thanks for reaching out! The Progressive Dynamics 9200 Inteli-Power Converter # PD9245C is only able to charge standard batteries, so if you have Lithium batteries, you're going to need the 9300 Series # PD69RR instead. Are you upgrading your batteries, or upgrading the converter?

  • Replacement Converter for PD9245C that is Lithium Battery Compatible
Hey Jay, the correct replacement converter to replace what you have now that is compatible with LifePO4 batteries would be the part # PD69RR that you referenced. Progressive Dynamics likes to change their part numbers a lot and create revisions of their converters but our # PD69RR which is the same as the PD9345 is the current model that matches your amperage and battery type. Your vehicle alternator wouldn't be charging the house battery so you shouldn't need to change anything there.

Hey Rod! Yes, the Progressive Dynamics 9300 Series RV Converter Charger # PD69RR can be mounted vertically. This is a 45 amp unit has space for up to 3 breakers rated for 120V at 30 amps. This lets you have up to 6 branch circuits when you use tandem breakers. • Is etrailer Part # PD69RR the Progressive Dynamics PD9345V Converter Charger?
Tony, that's a great question, and you're absolutely right to double-check before ordering. Yes, etrailer part # PD69RR is the Progressive Dynamics PD9345V converter charger. The PD69RR number is our internal etrailer part number, while PD9345V is the manufacturer's number, so you are looking at the correct 45 amp converter charger. One thing worth mentioning is that the "V" at the end of PD9345V is important. It indicates that this version is battery-selector compatible and can be configured...

  • Possible Converter Damage After Supplying 240 Volts to a 30 Amp RV Trailer
Hi Ken, I'm sorry to say, if 240 volts was accidentally supplied to a 30 amp RV that is designed for 120 volt service, it is possible that the converter was damaged. In some cases, fuses or circuit breakers will protect certain components, but an overvoltage event like that can still damage the converter along with other electronics such as the microwave, air conditioner control board, refrigerator control board, TV, or battery charger circuitry. Before replacing anything, I would recommend...

We do have the Go Power RV Converter and Smart Battery Charger part # 34266168. It is shorter but I'm unsure if the other dimensions will work. They are 10-1/2" long x 7-3/4" wide x 3-1/2" tall.
